WSSLHA was honored to host a guest speaker meeting with Dr. Moira McShane, AuD CCC-A, for National Audiologist Month! The meeting took place on October 25, 2022 at 7:30 PM EST via Zoom.
Dr. Moira Rose McShane AuD, CCC-A, is a pediatric audiologist at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital who absolutely loves working with young children. As an audiologist, she evaluates, diagnoses, and treats hearing loss and balance issues. Dr. McShane provides services such as prescribing and fitting hearing devices, providing hearing rehabilitation, and more. Dr. McShane has had an extensive educational and professional career, attending multiple educational institutions across the country. Prior to her career as an Audiologist, she taught children as an elementary school teacher in Denver Public Schools. She completed her Audiology externship at Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI before receiving her AuD from the University of Washington. In our meeting, she spoke on the things that led her to choose Audiology as her career, walked us through her day-to-day schedule, lead us through a case study, and shared some powerful advice for students pursuing Audiology!
